Chelsea stars Romeo Lavia and Noni Madueke return to training
The Chelsea official website has updated on the injuries of their players ahead of the Newcastle United game in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal on Tuesday night. The Blues are set to be without a total of nine players who are undergoing a recovery phase, while some will undergo surgery.
Robert Sanchez will miss the entire month of December after suffering a knee injury in a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United. Although the custodian was featured against Everton, he was stretched out early in the game. Sanchez is now undergoing a specialist assessment.
Marc Cucurella, meanwhile, suffered an ankle injury against Everton and has successfully had surgery. Now it is anticipated that the left-back will be out until February.
A similar injury incident happened with Reece James, who picked up a hamstring injury and is now in the early stages of rehabilitation. Trevoh Chalobah, who has yet to make an appearance for the Blues, picked up an injury during pre-season and is continuing with his rehabilitation programme.
Wesley Fofana, who broke his ACL before the start of the pre-season, is in his recovery phase and might not return until the end of the season. Ben Chilwell is recuperating from the hamstring injury he suffered in the Carabao Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion and won’t be back until February.
Carney Chukwuemeka is in the same line as he recovers from the knee injury he picked up against West Ham United. The midfielder’s comeback remains to be seen.
Lesley Ugochukwu suffered a minor injury and should be back in January. Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia has started partial training, and Noni Madueke has returned to full practice.
Another injury-ravaged season for Chelsea.
According to the most recent injury update, Lavia and Madueke are expected to play in a few games this December, while the other half of the players will return in January and the other in February. Fofana is not expected to play again until the final stretch of the season.

The majority of Chelsea’s injured players are regular members of the first team. Our previous campaign was hindered primarily by injuries, and this season has been no different. However, things are under command at this point, and we have been playing respectably. We play Newcastle next, and if we win, we’ll have a guaranteed berth in the Carabao Cup semifinals.
