“I never really thought of leaving”- Star forward speaks on Juventus future amid Chelsea links

Dusan Vlahovic talks about Juventus future amidst Chelsea links

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has openly discussed his future amidst speculation linking him to Premier League clubs, including Chelsea.

Despite the interest from these English teams, Vlahovic has expressed a strong inclination to stay at Juventus, highlighting his contentment and sense of belonging at the Italian club.

Vlahovic’s remarks come at a time when both Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keen on strengthening their attacking options. The Serbian forward, however, seems committed to his current team, noting that he feels “at home” at Juventus and has no immediate plans to leave.

His decision appears to be a mix of professional satisfaction and personal preference, as he appreciates playing for one of the world’s most significant football teams. Additionally, with over two years left on his contract, there seems to be no urgency from his side to make a move.

This stance could represent a significant setback for Chelsea’s transfer plans. The London club, known for its strategic and often aggressive approach in the transfer market, may have seen Vlahovic as an ideal candidate to boost its frontline.

Speaking about the situation to Gazzetta dello Sport as quoted by the Express, here is what Vlahovic had to say about his future

“I feel at home at Juventus and I never really thought of leaving. Saudi move? I play for one of the most important teams in the world, I’m proud and for now I see myself here. I still have two and a half years left on my contract, we’re in no rush but Giuntoli and my agent are already talking. I’m very happy to be here. I was always sure I wanted to stay. The voices are always there and they are part of the game, if we start listening to everyone we can go crazy. I isolated myself and only thought about the pitch and in the end, I’m very happy to have stayed. It was what I wanted.”

The situation exemplifies the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of football transfers, where player preference plays a crucial role. Until now, everyone assumed that the Serbian striker wanted to leave.

It also underlines the importance of aligning club ambitions with player aspirations, a balance that top teams like Chelsea continually strive to achieve in their quest for domestic and European success.

Vlahovic might not be the answer to Chelsea’s number nine issues anyways. We should be going for a striker who is comfortable with the ball at his feet. So, it’s better we look elsewhere.
