A View From The Bridge

Journo says 22-year-old Mykhaylo Mudryk alternative might not want Chelsea move

Dean Jones claims that Chelsea target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will struggle in the Premier League

Transfer journalist Dean Jones reveals Chelsea target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia won’t join the Premier League as his playing style doesn’t suit the English top flight.

The Blues are linked with a move for the Georgian forward, and it remains to be seen if Chelsea have a concrete interest in signing the 22-year-old. Kvaratskhelia enjoyed a productive season last term, leading his side to the first-ever Scudetto since 1990 and scoring 14 goals across all competitions.

However, for the 22-year-old, the Blues certainly face competition from the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Newcastle United. Chelsea will have to shell out a hefty amount to sign Napoli’s star player and express their interest in Victor Osimhen as well. It is unlikely that the Blues will be able to afford both players.

Now Jones says even if Chelsea are can bring the Georgian to Stamford Bridge, he will find it hard to adjust there, he told GiveMeSport:

“I think all the signals so far are that Kvaratskhelia doesn’t really have that same desire to get to the Premier League as some other players do. I think part of that is because of the type of player he is and the style of football he plays. It might not work.”

Given that Kvaratskhelia, who is only 22 years old, led Napoli to the Serie A championship and was voted the league’s player of the season, there are many things to consider. His standards are already so high that many clubs would be interested in hiring him. It’s evident that the Premier League is more competitive than other leagues, and it can take Georgian one or two seasons to get suited to the league.

Because he is far more experienced than his age, Kvaratskhelia will be a terrific addition to our team as a left-flank player. Kvaratskhelia is a fantastic player with the background and ability to accomplish anything we could ask of a forward. Because of his speed and fearlessness to beat defenders, players of his calibre adapt quickly to the tough league environment.

Raheem Sterling’s and Mykhaylo Mudryk’s patchy form hasn’t done much to aid Chelsea, but the 22-year-old’s arrival will be very beneficial as he will give a fresh flare to the team and add an abundance of quality from the left-flank.
