Danny Murphy calls for inquest into Chelsea staff regarding injury-plagued star

Danny Murphy expresses his concerns over Reece James’ injury issues

Chelsea’s troubles continue to grow on and off the field. The club are losing players to injury regularly and the latest addition to the list is Reece James (again!), Marc Cucurella, and Robert Sanchez. Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy has pointed fingers at Chelsea’s support staff.

Speaking to FIVE’s YouTube channel (per Express), he expressed his concerns regarding James’ recurring hamstring injury. This was his statement:

“What baffles me, the medical departments were great even when I was finishing, why can’t they find what it is. When he doesn’t play they’re not as good”.

Danny Murphy believes the Chelsea medical team is unable to deploy measures to help Reece James achieve full fitness. He added by saying,

“I’ve got to feel for Reece James. People want to criticise a player when they get injured all the time because they think it’s mentality. Look, seven times hamstring injury.”

Chelsea’s run with injuries is achieving a new high

Chelsea has lost players to injuries this season more than ever. They are facing new woes every week in this department. We saw Cucurella and Sanchez limp off the field during the Everton game. Watching Reece James leave the pitch painfully is another usual scene for the Chelsea fans.

Chelsea are in dire need of Reece James

The Chelsea captain has faced hamstring injury seven times! From the looks of it, James is forced to play without allowing a complete recovery period. The fans and pundits blamed James for the longest period. However, now the focus has shifted to the ability of the club’s medical staff.

Strong comments from Danny Murphy have shed light on Chelsea’s probably underlying problems. This should urge Mauricio Pochettino to delve deeper into the problem and find a permanent solution. Chelsea occupies a spot at the bottom half of the table and there is a need for desperate measures like these to save them from further damage.
