Chelsea stat from 2023 proves club are still struggling despite heavy Todd Boehly investment

OPTA reveals Chelsea have picked up lowest points in Premier League

OPTA says Chelsea have the lowest points garnered in the Premier League compared to the sides who have been promoted to the Premier League this season.

The Blues have four more games before the start of the new year, and they are currently 12th in the table with 10 points ahead of relegation and 14 points off the Champions League spot.

Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have also picked up the lowest points in the league, but when it comes to average points per game, Chelsea sits at the bottom of the table.

Mauricio Pochettino has come under fire after Chelsea 2-0 defeat to Everton.

This is a worrying sign for a club that has invested £1bn since the arrival of new owners and is now struggling to win matches despite a change of manager.

The Blues have been poor on the pitch as well, despite signing new forwards such as Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, and Christopher Nkunku. The Blues’ shot conversion rate is 8.49%, the second-lowest figure of those clubs. However, Nkunku is yet to make his debut, and for the Argentine manager, his return will add much-needed quality to the attack.

Chelsea have been among the top clubs to have created the most chances, producing the sixth-highest expected goals total of 63.17, but a lack of cutting edge in the box has seen them score just 47 goals.

Chelsea boss Todd Boehly.

These statistics demonstrate how subpar we have been under the new owner in every aspect. We are struggling, and as we enter the second half of the season lagging in 12th position in the league, things will only get worse if we fail to shift things around and transform ourselves. However, given our team, it might take a few seasons for us to progress forward under Mauricio Pochettino, who has been managing such a youthful and unproven group.

Since he was not involved in the transfer negotiations, he shouldn’t be held responsible for this. Our squad construction has been subpar, and our owners ought to be held accountable. You’re in for a long haul if you’re merely signing young players and expecting them to produce results right away.
