Francesco Camarda, who recently made his debut for AC Milan at the age of 15, is now already attracting interest from top European clubs, including Chelsea.
Camarda became the youngest AC Milan player, aged 15 years and 260 days old when he made his debut for the Serie A giants. It took a few days after his debut for other clubs to show interest in signing him.
According to 90 Min, (h/t Liverpool Echo), AC Milan now face a hurdle to tie down the forward for a longer period at the club as he is not allowed to sign a new deal until he turns 16.
This will give other clubs an advantage in signing the 15-year-old before he signs a new contract. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund want to acquire his services.
It is difficult to turn down big European clubs when they approach you. Francesco Camarda is a perfect example of the kind of young player Chelsea are always looking to recruit.
The teenager, whose family is situated in Milan, will have to make a significant decision, and if interested teams offer a salary that could be significantly higher than current wages, he will have a tough time ignoring it.
Since Camarda is only 15 years old, he will require additional mentoring because it is common for elite teams to want to recruit a youngster who makes a breakthrough for a senior team at such a young age. Large teams may pay him huge salaries to entice him away from Milan, so he will be under a lot of pressure to thrive there.
It is easy to get carried away by the age of the player and it is too early to make a call on Camarda. Chelsea would be better off laying off him for a few years and see how he develops.
