Ivan Toney is yet to decide on his next club and is said to be torn over his future as Chelsea and Arsenal continue to make enquiries for the striker’s move in January.
The centre-forward is currently serving an eight-month ban after breaching Premier League ban. He is set to return to action in January, and it remains to be seen if he wants to stay at Brentford, as Chelsea and Arsenal are looking to make a move.
However, as per the report, the striker hasn’t made a decision on his future and is now open to remaining at Brentford for the remainder of the campaign.
A source told the Sun, (h/t Metro), that it was thought he would leave the Bees once his transfer ban was lifted, but now he wants to contribute to the Thomas Frank side until the end of the season.
‘‘Ivan is torn over his future. Brentford has stood by him, and the club has been brilliant. Part of him wants to help them by hitting the ground running straight away in January and scoring the goals that will ensure they stay in the Premier League.”
‘’There are a lot of clubs interested in Ivan, but his focus for now is getting back on the pitch at Brentford and doing business for his manager, Thomas Frank, to whom he feels he has a big debt to repay. The same goes for the fans.”
We still have time to make decisions regarding the January transfer window. Thus, anything can occur during that period, including the possibility of an impossible transfer. Toney has not yet made his return to the field and will require several games to hone his scoring abilities. Jackson has been playing excellently in front of the net right now, and Christopher Nkunku is expected to make a comeback in December.
It’s still unclear how things will pan out in the next transfer window. Toney, who turns 28 in March, will also need to make a significant choice about his future.
