Real Madrid plan to offer 24-year-old player in potential deal for Chelsea’s Kepa

Real Madrid ready to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga on long-term which will see Andriy Lunin go other side in swap deal with Chelsea

As per the Sun, Real Madrid are open to signing Kepa Arrizabalaga permanently but won’t pay £17.5 million for the goalie and instead offer their No. 2 custodian Andriy Lunin in a swap deal.

The Spanish goalkeeper joined Real Madrid on a season-long deal after an ACL injury to Thibaut Courtois, who has been ruled out until the end of the season.

The former Athletic Bilbao goalie already revealed he wants to stay at Real beyond his loan move, and he is also ready to lower his £176,000-a-week wages to remain at Real. Chelsea will allow him to leave if they profit decently after signing him for £71.6 million five years ago.

The West Londoners will be happy if they get £17.5 million, but the Spanish capital is unwilling to pay that much and is instead offering a swap deal.

A swap deal isn’t sensible because we already have Robert Sanchez and his backup. It would be rather good if we make a decent profit from Kepa’s exit. The only thing to do is negotiate with them, given that the club has lost only once with the 29-year-old between the sticks.

The Blues are better without another goalkeeper as of now. Sanchez currently remains the first option for Mauricio Pochettino, but if he continues to make mistakes, then Dorde Petrovic will get a chance.

Presently, we don’t need another goalkeeper, and even if we do, we will certainly go for an elite goalkeeper instead of Madrid’s second-choice Shot-Stopper. It will be our loss if we accept the swap deal, given the amount we spent on signing the 29-year-old. We have already suffered a good loss when Real signed Antonio Rudiger for free, and if we sign Kepa for a lower fee, then it will be embarrassing for us.

We can only hope that he continues to put up a great performance throughout the season and convinces them to pay his asking price.
