Real Madrid deny negotiations with 24-year-old Chelsea target

Real Madrid have denied any negotiations with Kylian Mbappe in latest statement amid Chelsea interest

Real Madrid have dismissed rumours that the club is in talks with Chelsea target Kylian Mbappe over his potential move to Bernabeu next summer.

This comes after the 24-year-old’s contract is set to expire next summer, (Transfermarkt). Plenty of clubs are monitoring his situation at Paris Saint-Germain including Chelsea.

The attacker has long been coveted by Real Madrid and nearly left Paris Saint-Germain, but ultimately decided to stay. Considering he is set to be a free agent, clubs will have a chance to sign the forward on a pre-contract while Arsenal, and Chelsea remain keen on signing him.

Real Madrid are still considered the favourite to sign the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, and the media has continued to associate the striker with a move to the Spanish capital, (h/t Football. London) prompting them to issue a statement that said as follows:

“Given information in the media about negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid states that this information is categorically false. Negotiations have not taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.”

Anything might happen in the upcoming summer transfer window, and since the forward hasn’t extended his contract, teams will be fighting for his services because who wouldn’t want such an elite player available for nothing? It seems unlikely that the Blues will sign him, and it’s unclear if he wants to join a West London team. Although he has always had his sights set on moving to Real, as we said before, anything is possible.

With him, Chelsea will have a star player who will elevate the calibre of the team to a new level. Given his popularity, we will also make a significant profit from his signing. Though highly improbable, let’s wait and see how things pan out by the summer of next year.
