Mauricio Pochettino says Mykhaylo Mudryk could be available for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur
As per Evening Standard, Mauricio Pochettino revealed Chelsea sensation Mykhaylo Mudryk might be available to face Tottenham Hotspur. The 22-year-old’s performance has now guaranteed him a starting spot under the ex-Southampton manager.
The Ukrainian forward was absent in Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford with a muscle strain and is set to be out for the Carabao Cup round against Blackburn Rovers.
However, the Argentine manager has suggested the injury isn’t serious and that he should be fit enough to face the league leaders on Monday. Spurs have made tremendous strides under Ange Postecoglou, and it will be an entertaining game between both London clubs.
Mudryk’s life at Chelsea hasn’t exactly started smoothly. The former Shakhtar Donetsk forward has had difficulty putting on a strong showing, but following his goal against Arsenal and Fulham, he has demonstrated in his last games that he is beginning to find his groove again.
His presence will be a big boost for us against Tottenham, and he now adds significant quality to the squad, but he isn’t fully fit, so we shouldn’t take any risk with his injury.
What Mauricio Pochettino has said looks like he isn’t fully fit to play the game, as when asked about Mudryk’s availability for the Tottenham game, he said, “Mudryk, maybe.”
Pochettino is not sure if the forward is fit enough to feature in the game. So we have to be careful with it and assess if he has fully recovered from the muscle strain. We have good options for his position, so there isn’t any problem if Mudryk is unavailable. Even if he is, it would be doubtful that he will be in the starting XI.

But what we have witnessed from past games Mudryk’s performance is now seeing him become a regular starter for us, and once he reaches his top performance, he will certainly be the first pick for Pochettino ahead of other options.
