Manchester City are keen on signing Chelsea star Reece James
Manchester City are keen on signing Chelsea sensation Reece James as a Kyle Walker replacement. Walker has become one of the most important players under Pep Guardiola, but his ageing factor has forced the manager to look for a replacement, and he has identified Chelsea star James.
According to the Independent, (h/t Manchester Evening), Guardiola wants James to replace the England international at Manchester City who is now 33.
Real Madrid expressed interest in James, who was chosen as Chelsea’s captain this season, but it seems doubtful that he will leave the team considering how Chelsea continues to grow into an exciting team.
James is one of Chelsea’s most valuable players, and they are unlikely to think about moving him until they receive an enormous offer. James is without a doubt the player that Mauricio Pochettino values the most since he possesses the leadership abilities to guide the team.
The right-back has also extended his contract until 2028 and will hopefully be committed to the club until then. James has often struggled with injuries, and this season he also picked one in the season’s first game against Liverpool.
He made a comeback against Arsenal and is now doing well enough to play the entire game. James is our best asset, and considering the calibre of addition he makes to the team, Chelsea shouldn’t consider any offer. Even though injuries have prevented him from playing every game, perhaps it will not recur, and the team will proceed cautiously with him now that Malo Gusto can shoulder James’ load.

We most definitely don’t want to lose our finest player to a direct competitor, so City should search elsewhere. Guardiola will certainly struggle to find Walker’s replacement, given the sheer quality the 33-year-old brings. But this isn’t our concern because we have our talented right-back in James.
