Mauricio Pochettino was very excited when Chelsea secured their place in the FA Cup semi-final after beating Leicester City 4-2. The Blues will face Manchester City in the next round at Wembley.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino says he is quiet person and doesn’t like celebrating goals

There will be a recollection of old memories once Mauricio Pochettino steps on the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Monday when his side Chelsea will face their London rivals.

It’s been five years since Pochettino was sacked as Spurs manager, and many things have changed. He went on to manage Paris Saint-Germain before taking a year off and returning to management.

The 51-year-old is now the manager of Chelsea after the Blues themselves endured a dismal season last campaign, which saw a change of four managers. The Pochettino appointment came after an extensive interview with the Argentine.

Performance-wise, things have improved greatly under his management, but their ongoing problem in front of goal continues to plague them. The 51-year-old will be hoping that his forwards remain at their clinical best against Spurs.

But Pochettino has conceded that if his side wins or scores goals, he won’t celebrate, as he is a quiet person, (Football.London), he further said:

“I am a coach, and it is different. If you score a goal, you need to celebrate. Even if you spend your whole life at another club, It is happiness to score goals; it is not disrespectful. People sometimes get confused. But I am not a person to celebrate goals.”

It’s acceptable if he doesn’t like celebrating goals; that’s his way, and every manager has a different way of celebrating when their side scores goals, so we understand. Hopefully, no Chelsea fan will take this as a negative comment towards the club, given that we are facing Spurs. Once the emotions take over, you end up celebrating it, and let’s see how things unfold against Tottenham.

It will be a massive match for us and Pochettino. Of course, he would want to win this game despite having a soft spot for his former club. Spurs have yet to lose a game in the Premier League, and we have a chance to break their record.
