“He trained today”- Mauricio Pochettino gives Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku injury update that will please Chelsea fans

Mauricio Pochettino claims Chelsea duo Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku are back to training

Mauricio Pochettino has provided optimistic injury updates on Chelsea duos Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku. The Argentine manager revealed Nkunku is looking for a return after the November international break, while Lavia is also expected to make his debut.

Nkunku’s Chelsea debut was delayed due to a knee injury during pre-season as he went for surgery, which kept him out for long periods, but a return is near, and we soon can see him on the pitch.

Same for Lavia, who joined the Blues from Southampton. The Belgium midfielder suffered an ankle injury and is now close to making a comeback but has started training on grass.

Pochettino says Christopher Nkunku will return after the November international break.

The return of both players will help Chelsea because they will reinforce the club’s quality in the areas they represent. The Argentine manager provided positive news on both players’ return from injuries, (h/t Metro) as he said ahead of the Manchester City clash on Sunday.

“We had a conversation, and he said to me, “I want to be ready for after the international break. I said to him yesterday You are a liar, but he is doing really well, and we are very happy with how he is doing with his recovery. He is very professional.”

‘’Lavia is also close. He trained today on the pitch. Hopefully with the team next week.’’

The fans have been itching to watch them play ever since they signed, and their time on the field is drawing near as they approach maximum fitness. Following the November international break, Nkunku is expected to make his debut, and Lavia may also be available. Two quality players will add their abilities to the squad.

The arrival of Nkunku will be significant for us as, considering his efficiency in goal scoring, he will provide that clinical sharpness in front of the goal. Lavia’s absence hasn’t been felt enough given we have plenty of options in midfield, but his return will certainly be great for us.
