John Terry applauded Chelsea performance in their 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur
Former Chelsea captain John Terry was full of excitement as he praised the Blues’ performance against Tottenham Hotspur after the 4-1 statement win.
The Blues ended their London rivals’ run with a massive victory despite a decent performance. A goal from Cole Palmer and a hattrick from Nicolas Jackson secured Chelsea three points. Following the win Reece James posted photos of him and Nicolas Jackson on Instagram and Terry commented “Massive win captain, come on”
This comes after the Blues suffered a 2-0 loss to Brentford, which questioned why Chelsea have remained inconsistent despite putting in a good performance.
The West Londoners will feel even more inspired to take on Manchester City, their next formidable foe, after this 4-1 victory. It is significant for the Blues because Spurs had not lost before playing Chelsea.
Even though the performance may not have been up to par, the players will still be motivated by the win and three points. Pochettino appears to be successfully implementing his strategy, and the players have also performed admirably; it’s just a matter of time until victory becomes bread and butter for us.
Considering a few of our key players are injured, once they return, the Argentine will have a fully fit squad. One of them would be Christopher Nkunku, whose presence will add further quality to our squad and that clinical edge that we have lacked this season.
Terry would be pleased with the players’ effort. Despite letting up the first goal, we soon recovered, and Spurs had a difficult evening in their own stadium. Ange Postecoglou opted to switch his formation after being reduced to nine men. He played high line, and we took advantage of the situation. Breaking the high line is difficult because you’re frequently offside, but we punished them with our swift players.
