Chelsea to battle Arsenal for 21-year-old Ukrainian star

Manchester United are considering move for Chelsea target Georgiy Sudakov

Chelsea are set to battle the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal for 21-year-old Ukrainian star Georgiy Sudakov.

According to Tutto Juve, (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are looking to make a move for the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, while Chelsea and Arsenal have also been mentioned with interest.

Sudakov’s performance has been monitored by plenty of clubs across Europe after the midfielder has shone for club and national teams, scoring three goals and grabbing one assist in 15 matches so far.

Sudakov mainly operates as a midfielder, but his versatility allows him to function anywhere in the midfield, and he has excelled in all positions.

Should Chelsea sign him, they will have a very technical and skilled individual similar to Enzo Fernandez. But currently, having another midfielder is like overcrowding that area.

With technical players like Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Lesley Ugochukwu, our midfield is already quite strong. Sudakov will not play in enough first-team matches. Therefore, we would be better off not adding another midfield player during the transfer season.

Since the Blues have just expressed interest in signing him, it is unlikely that we would do so. He is still only 21 years old and needs more time to mature before joining the Premier League.

Coming to the English League will see him exposed, and he will certainly not make an instant impact. United wants to sign him, and he could be a good fit for them given they need a technical playmaker besides Bruno Fernandes.

The Blues should look to sign a striker instead, given our obvious need for an established centre-forward. Signing for any position isn’t a priority right now, except for No. 9. We have a big season ahead of us, and once he lands a prolific striker, we can finish the campaign on a great note considering our performance has massively improved under Mauricio Pochettino.
