Victor Osimhen is said to be open to a move to Chelsea in January

Chelsea are set to go all out for Victor Osimhen in the coming January transfer window as they desperately look to add a prolific striker to their roster.

According to the Telegraph (subscription needed) (h/t Metro), Mauricio Pochettino is willing to add another striker, and Chelsea are set to pursue the Nigerian striker who is willing to join Stamford Bridge.

However, Napoli are set to demand in excess of £100 million for their star striker, whose contract runs out in 2025. Osimhen is yet to extend his deal, and if he doesn’t, then the Serie A club will be forced to sell the forward.

This season, the Blues have continued to be sloppy in front of goal. Nicolas Jackson, an impressive goal scorer for the Blues, was brought in last summer window. With seven goals this season across all competitions, he is presently the top scorer.

The Blues are additionally attempting to recruit Ivan Toney, who will cost them £80 million, but they face strong competition from their London rivals Arsenal for his services.

Osimhen is the perfect option for Chelsea to acquire a prolific striker who can score goals on a regular basis. Even though he is only 24, he has maturity beyond his years, and he will undoubtedly try to rectify our goalscoring problems.

No matter how much Napoli demands, we should definitely try to get Osimhen, as he can provide that clinical finish in the goal. After all, we didn’t care when we signed our top targets, such as Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, so why should we bother about Osimhen’s price? Since he is willing to join us in January, he is the striker we have been waiting so long to sign, so we shouldn’t wait.

We haven’t had a striker who can routinely score goals. Our carelessness in front of the goal has already harmed us this season, and we urgently need to make improvements.
