Chelsea and Manchester City face ‘real’ possibility of huge points deduction or relegation

Manchester City and Chelsea are in danger of facing 30 points deduction or relegation to Premier League

Chelsea and Manchester City face the possibility of massive points deductions after the Premier League handed Everton a 10-point reduction for violating their transfer policy.

According to the Times, (h/t Sky Sports) Chelsea and Manchester City are in danger of facing a 30-point deduction or automatic relegation from the Premier League, which seems possible for both clubs should charges against the club prove to be in the hands of an independent regulatory commission. Everton are now in huge despair as the club has been handed a 10-point deduction, which saw them drop to the bottom of the table.

Roman Abramovich made secret payments during his time at Chelsea.

Compared to Chelsea, City have been charged with 115 alleged breaches, and this could have a severe sanction on the club. While the Blues made secret offshore payments under Roman Abramovich, investigation is still going on.

However, Chelsea’s new owners informed the league regarding Abramovich’s alleged payments during his time at the club. But given the severity of Everton’s penalty, both City and Blues now fear a possible relegation from the Premier League.

Although it will depend on Premier League decisions, City could fear losing league crowns and other trophies, and the West Londoners may risk relegation and a significant point deduction. The Blues are currently 10th in the Premier League standings, and any massive point reduction might certainly lead to relegation.

Manchester City and Chelsea could face 30 points deduction after breaking Premier League transfer policy.

It now appears clear that the team will lose points because the Toffees had a similar outcome despite breaking a minor Premier League transfer rule. Both the players and the club will be greatly impacted by it. However, since our new owners informed the league of the breach, perhaps our punishment will be less severe.

Due to their serious violation, City may be punished brutally, possibly even losing their league titles or being demoted to the Championship. Anything can happen, and now that the league has finally decided on Everton, they will likely feel pressure to impose strict penalties on us, which might have consequences for both teams.
