“They still need two players”- Gary Neville sends double transfer message to Chelsea despite recent outlay

Gary Neville believes Chelsea needs more signings to become competitive side

Gary Neville believes Chelsea should once again seek more signings and bring in two additional players when the next transfer window opens to bolster certain positions.

The West Londoners have overhauled their entire squad, but the former Manchester United captain insists they require two more signings in specific areas.

Chelsea has been one of the most active clubs in the transfer window under Todd Boehly, with a complete squad revamp and spending totaling £1 billion. However, their start to the new season under Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t been ideal, with only three wins in eight Premier League matches.

This can be attributed to their lack of clinical finishing, resulting in losses despite dominating games.

Neville emphasizes that Chelsea needs to address this issue promptly, especially with tough fixtures ahead against prominent sides. Speaking in an interview, he said:

“They’ve got a lot of talented young players. The question mark will be centre forward and experience, I think, if Thiago Silva something happens to him, replacing him. Chelsea are not far away if they got a centre forward and a centre half; even though they spent a billion quid, they still need two players.”

Scoring goals remains a critical factor this season. Jackson and Armando Broja are too young to make an immediate impact, and Christopher Nkunku’s return is delayed. Finding a clinical striker should be a top priority in the upcoming transfer window. Gary Neville’s statement is on point because Chelsea indeed needs a striker and may seek Silva’s replacement next season.
