Mikel Arteta reveals Former Chelsea star Kai Havertz and Jorginho will feature against Blues
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed former Chelsea players Kai Havertz and Jorginho are ready to take part against the Blues. Both stars will play against the club that helped them establish their reputations in the Premier League.
The Italian joined the Gunners last January, while Havertz made a switch in the recently concluded summer transfer window as Chelsea commenced a long squad haul that saw the exit of many senior players.
Jorginho joined the Blues from Napoli and became an indispensable part of the club. His instrumental role helped the West Londoners win the Champions League, which saw him win the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award in the 2020–21 season.
The club made enough money from his departure, but Havertz never had the kind of significant contribution we had anticipated from the German.
It will be a big game for both of them if they are going to feature and the Spanish manager, as asked if both would participate against their former sides, told Arsenal’s website:
Jorginho as well; I’m sure they will be. They were there and spoke really highly about the club and everybody there, so it will be a special day for them.
Jorgino and Havertz will return to their former side, where they became prominent figures. The Havertz goal helped Chelsea win the Champions League, while the Italian midfielder established himself as one of the top players in Europe. They will put their past club memories to one side as they play us now in the hopes of picking up three points for their present team.
