Mauricio Pochettino reveals Armando Broja won’t be available for Chelsea vs Arsenal

According to Football. London, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Chelsea striker Armando Broja is out of the Arsenal game, although the reason is unknown.

The 22-year-old picked up a knee injury in December last season, which ruled him out for the entire season but his return will provide competition to Nicolas Jackson for regular game-time.

The Albanian striker returned to action against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup and subsequently scored Chelsea’s goal this season against Fulham. The 22-year-old was in the starting lineup in Chelsea’s 4-1 thrashing of Burnley but was replaced at half-time.

He was then called up for the Albanian national team for the October international break being ruled out of the Arsenal game isn’t good news and hopefully, he hasn’t had a setback in his knee injury.

Given Broja’s absence, Pochettino has only Jackson to start against Arsenal, who have now scored two goals for the Blues in the Premier League.

Broja’s absence is not favourable news for us, but perhaps he will only be absent for this match, as we will need him for other important games. Jackson will also need a break from games eventually, as playing frequently without rest increases the danger of picking up an injury.

Jackson has scored two goals in a row, first against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup and then versus Burnley, and hopefully, he will sustain his current pace and score more goals, as this is what Chelsea wants from a striker who can consistently score. Chelsea certainly needs two strikers at the top to compete for the slot. Broja recently made a full recovery from a long-term injury, so we can only hope that he hasn’t picked up any fresh injuries.

While Chelsea will be lenient with him until he regains his form, Jackson now has the goal-scoring duties and should be in prime form against Arsenal.
