“A massive job”- Chelsea boss pledges patience as they get back to winning ways in the Premier League

Mauricio Pochettino claims his Chelsea job isn’t easy with too many young players in the fray

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed Chelsea are trying to bed in too many young players and has asked for patience from fans as his side secured a 2-0 win over Fulham.

Goals from Mykhaylo Mudryk and Armando Broja gave the West Londoners a much more important win, as their triumph took some pressure off Pochettino. Hopefully, we can now build on the momentum and put together a string of good results.

Pochettino has a big task on his plate, as the majority of the players are young and will need time to realise their potential, and the manager feels it’s not an easy job to complete the refashioning of the club.

With just two victories in their previous seven Premier League contests, Chelsea will look to build on their victory last night as they prepare for tough matches following the international break.

Pochettino has urged the fans to exercise patience, as his young side will take time to find their feet. After the game, (h/t Daily Mail), he told the press:

‘‘It’s about maturity and adaptation. We need to understand that young people need time to settle. Massive change has to come here, and it’s not easy to settle because, being honest, too many young players arrive on a team that is not solid.”

Cole Palmer set up Armando Broja’s second goal against Fulham.

Mauricio Pochettino is spot-on with his remark. We do have a solid squad, but they need time to adjust, and once things start to gel and there is fluency in the games then we will become capable enough to challenge the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City soon. Our young players are showing signs of progress, and even if we lose, fans must keep hoping that this side has a bright future.

Another thing to note is that a few of our key players are injured, and once they return, Pochettino will have an ideal side that can finish in the top four this season. It’s just that fans need to trust the process.
