“It was a contusion’’- Pochettino confirms that Chelsea star had a contusion in the game vs Fulham

Mauricio Pochettino claims Chelsea star Moises Caicedo had a contusion against Fulham

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Chelsea star Moises Caicedo had a contusion after the midfielder was removed in the closing stages of the match in the 2-0 win over Fulham.

Caicedo suffered a knock during injury time, which forced his withdrawal from the game. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious, as fans already witnessed two other players limp off earlier in the match.

Caicedo wasn’t the only one who was replaced; Mudryk and Broja were also subbed off. Both players scored on the night and the Blues will hope that an injury does not derail their good form.

Courtesy of goals from Armando Broja and Mykhaylo Mudryk, the Blues emerged victorious and earned three deserving points against the Cottagers. Hopefully, they will build on this victory going forward.

The fans will be hoping none of them has picked up a serious injury, given the West Londoners’ current roster of injured players. When asked about the Ecuadorian’s injury, (h/t Metro) Pochettino provided an update on the former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder and said:

‘‘Caicedo was a contusion, but hopefully there’s nothing wrong. He was tired, but it was a contusion.’’

Hopefully, it is not serious because we already had an injury scare when Broja and Mudryk were subbed off. However, Broja’s withdrawal was due to precaution, while Mudryk’s setback does not appear serious.

Losing Moises Caicedo will be a massive blow, as after Burnley we are set to face tougher challenges and we need our key players fit and raring to go for these games.

The Ecuadorian was impressive throughout the game, acted as a shield in the middle of the pitch, and complemented Enzo Fernandez well. Let’s just hope he hasn’t picked up a serious injury and will be back for the next game against Burnley on Saturday.
