“It was a bad thing”- International manager rips into Napoli for their treatment of Chelsea target Victor Osimhen

Jose Peseiro lambasts Napoli for recent TikTok video mocking Chelsea target Victor Osimhen

Jose Peseiro has torn into Napoli’s recent TikTok video mocking Chelsea target Victor Osimhen after which the relationship between player and striker has grown cold.

However, the Serie A club subsequently deleted the video after receiving backlash, but it has put Osimhen’s future at Napoli in doubt and other clubs are already keeping an eye on his situation.

The Nigerian lawyer threatened to take legal action for that TikTok video, which called him coconut and mocked him for missing a penalty against Bologna.

Chelsea have been keeping tabs on Osimhen’s fallout with Napoli and have added the striker to their January signing list. But it will be interesting to see if the Blues will be able to meet Napoli’s £120 million asking price for the former LOSC Lille centre-forward.

However, Napoli have now received more criticism from Osimhen’s national team coach, who believes this could harm the club’s relationship with Osimhen going forward, cited by Express and stated to Sky Sports:

“That video? From the club? From the outside, it is one thing, but a video from the club is the worst. That cannot happen. He was sad because it is not easy for anyone. He does not understand it. He does not understand why.”

“The others can do bad, but if Osimhen does bad, it is different because people demand more from the players who can do more. It was a bad thing that Napoli did. Of course, he would prefer they not do it. But my advice is to stay calm.”

Naturally, he is correct because this is not something to be joked about. You’re criticising a player who inspired your team to win the Scudetto last year. Every club wants Victor Osimhen now that he has established himself as a great player in Europe. The striker’s recent incident with Napoli will keep rival teams on their toes, and if he doesn’t renew his contract, they’ll be ready to pounce on the opportunity to sign him. The Nigerian striker has long been a favourite of Chelsea, but signing him will be complicated given his exorbitant asking price.

While Napoli would hate to lose their prized asset for nothing, if he doesn’t renew his contract, they will have to cut their asking price. Let’s wait and see how the scenario evolves in the future.
