Marcel Desailly feels Chelsea will emerge victorious against Arsenal
Former Blues player Marcel Desailly has given a bold prediction on the game between Chelsea and Arsenal and has backed his former side to beat the Gunners 3-1.
Football is a game where anything can happen, and knowing that Chelsea have won their past two matches against Burnley and Fulham, they will undoubtedly give their London rivals a tough fight.
Following a 1-0 victory over Manchester City, Arsenal are buzzing with confidence and will strive to thrash us by a huge margin but we will be hoping to pull off an unexpected victory.
Last season, the Gunners overcame Chelsea in home and away games when the Blues were going through a dismal period with the change of four new managers.
However, Desailly is standing for his former side and fully believes they can pull an upset on Mikel Arteta’s side. He feels the Gunners will arrive at Stamford Bridge underestimating the Mauricio Pochettino side, (h/t Metro) and told Gambling Zone:
“It looks impossible, but I’ll go for a 3-1 win [to Chelsea]. Why not? This is the beauty of the Premier League. As soon as a team has a mental drop and isn’t ready for the intensity of a match, they can lose. When Arsenal players arrive at Chelsea, they may believe that it won’t be as difficult as it would at Tottenham, City, or eventually, Manchester United.”
‘’Those kinds of stadiums get players ready for the battle. When teams come to Chelsea, they’ll think they can win, despite how talented their players are.”
Football is an expected sport, and what Desailly said could come true. We have seen a decent side beat the most in-form team. The Gunners are high on confidence and will make things tough for us.
We are facing a side who are second in the Premier League table and share the same points as Tottenham Hotspur who are on top. They recently edged Manchester City, so we can anticipate a difficult matchup with them. They have significantly improved under Arteta, but we intend to build on our current streak of victories and use it as fuel.
