“Don’t forget that I sold Koulibaly”- Chelsea get Victor Osimhen hint from Napoli chief’s recent comments

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis could be forced to sell Chelsea target Victor Osimhen if he doesn’t extend his contract

Chelsea have long been interested in signing Victor Osimhen and have received a major boost in acquiring the most sought-after striker after Aurelio De Laurentiis said he could sell the former LOSC Lille forward despite having a good relationship with him.

Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old situation, with Liverpool recently joining the race as Osimhen’s options keep increasing.

The Nigerian striker has two years left on his contract, (Transfermarkt), and a bidding war could erupt next summer if he doesn’t renew his deal.

Chelsea have shown great intent in pursuing their top target and could once again outbid the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool to acquire the Nigerian forward.

The last-season Scudetto winners are holding out £150 million for the striker, and now Napoli’s president reveals anything can happen next summer, (h/t Football.London) as he told reports last week:

“I have never been unhappy with Osimhen. But there are always two people in these things; I have remained the same; if his mood has changed, I can’t do anything about it. If, after a handshake, things change, it’s disappointing, but we take note of it, and then life goes on. We have excellent relations with him; his contract expires in 2025, so there is time. Don’t forget that I sold Koulibaly in his last year.”

Osimhen is just 24 and now seems to be hitting his prime, and if he is sensible and wants to win more trophies, joining an elite side would be good for him. Given how dominant he is in front of the goal, his addition will elevate us to a new level and he can singlehandedly make us the most clinical side in Premier League given how ruthless he is in front of the goal. His contract expires in 2025, and if it doesn’t extend, Napoli could ponder selling him.

Osimhen is undoubtedly our top target, so outbidding Arsenal and Liverpool once more shouldn’t be a hurdle. In the past, whenever it came to signing our top targets, we succeeded in doing so and let’s hope we do this time as well.
