This was the performance that nobody would have expected that too against a side that came on the back of a 1-0 win over Manchester City. Gunners’ boss, Mikel Arteta, was impressed by our performance and credited Chelsea for their brilliant display.
When was the last time Chelsea played that masterfully? Possibly two years ago? Pochettino completely minimised Arteta’s side tactically, who appeared lost and unsure of what they were supposed to do.
We were assertive and gave them little time on the ball with our intense pressing. It was a team performance, and everyone should be credited with the effort that they showed.
This performance laid down the marker that we are soon going to catch up with the likes of Manchester City and Knowing a few players are injured, once they return, we are certainly going for the title soon.
Arteta was impressed with Chelsea’s performance and gave them recognition for their outstanding performance. He further told BBC MOTD:
“It’s mixed feelings. Credit goes to Chelsea for the way they set up. You have to expect that. We were below par in very basic things, we didn’t play with enough purpose with the ball, and we were soft in some situations. We allowed them to run, which is a really dangerous thing to do.”
This was a high-voltage effort from us, and the way we played really demonstrated that we are maturing as a team with each game. With our spectacular performance, things will only get better. We also have a few players injured who will play a key role and once they return we are certainly going for title charge.
With that performance versus our London opponent, we have set the bar high. There will inevitably be setbacks, but one thing is certain: our team is developing, and it is evident on the pitch and nobody will be able to stop us once we establish this level of consistent performances.
