Chelsea want at least €29 million for 24-year-old defender amidst Bundesliga interest

Chelsea are open to selling Trevoh Chalobah in winter transfer window amidst Bayern interest

According to Spanish publication Fichajes, Chelsea won’t accept less than €29 million for out-of-favour defender, Trevoh Chalobah, who is yet to make an appearance for the Blues this season.

The centre-back is wanted by Bayern Munich, and the German club could once again return for him in the January window after failing to sign him in the recently concluded summer.

Chalobah was also close to joining Nottingham Forest but opted to remain at Chelsea, but now his future at Stamford Bridge is slowly becoming uncertain.

Trevoh Chalobah could reunite with Thomas Tuchel at Bayern.

The Cobham graduate is currently out with an injury, and his return remains unclear, but it doesn’t seem like he is in the plans of Mauricio Pochettino. The West Londoners are currently overloaded in that position with the likes of Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, and 39-year-old Thiago Silva.

The German club are in dire need of a centre-back after the departure of Benjamin Pavard, and the return of Jerome Boateng has also not materialised.

Given that Chelsea have enough backup centre-backs, it would be better for him to look for playing time elsewhere rather than compete for his spot.

Chelsea reveal price tag of defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Knowing that he will be reunited with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who handed him Chelsea debut in 2021, Bayern will be the best option to join. There, he will also have Champions League football. He could also get a starting spot in Tuchel’s lineup, given they need a centre-back, and the German coach certainly rates Trevoh Chalobah with his qualities. The 24-year-old will have the opportunity to revive his career there as well and can also fill in at midfield.

Hopefully, if Bayern does come for him in the January window, Chalobah should make a wise decision because remaining at Chelsea will only be a waste of his talents.
