Todd Boehly recruits ex-Manchester United chief as his new chief revenue officer

Chelsea recruit ex-Manchester United chief Casper Stylsvig as his new chief revenue officer

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly continues revamping the club’s off-pitch structure by making several key appointments and the latest recruit is former Manchester United sponsorship head Casper Stylsvig.

According to the Express, Stylsvig joins as Chelsea’s new chief revenue officer after greatly boosting commercial income at AC Milan in a similar role. During his Milan tenure, the club’s revenues rose 14% for FY 2021/22 to a record $318 million as compared to the previous year.

Chelsea will look to Stylsvig to drive similar financial growth as they transition from the Roman Abramovich era. With over $1 billion spent on transfers since taking over, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital aim to see return on investment.

Stylsvig’s Milan success makes him well-suited to elevate Chelsea’s commercial performance. The club already secured a lucrative £40 million shirt sponsorship with Infinite Athlete under Boehly’s ownership.

Further boosting the executive team is new chief operating officer Jason Gannon, formerly of the NFL side Los Angeles Rams. New chief financial officer Adriel Lares also joins from US financial firm Stash.

The flurry of appointments shows Boehly’s intent to put his stamp on Chelsea’s operations. As massive spending continues both on and off the pitch, maximizing revenues is increasingly vital for the Blues’ owner.

Stylsvig’s experience in helping revitalize Milan commercially will be invaluable. Chelsea hope he can spearhead making their finances sustainable despite unprecedented outlays.

With his Man United background, Stylsvig knows the Premier League landscape. Chelsea will bank on his expertise to help increase their brand value.
