Real Madrid and Saudi club join Chelsea in the pursuit of Victor Osimhen
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are set to face competition from Real Madrid and Saudi clubs if Victor Osimhen pushes for a move in January away from Napoli after the recent TikTok incident. The forward’s agent has threatened to take legal action after Napoli’s official account on TikTok posted two videos mocking the 24-year-old.
In the first clip, the video made fun of Osimhen when the striker missed a penalty in a stalemate against Bologna, while another video called him a coconut and is viewed as a racial slur. The player has since deleted all signs of him being a Napoli player, calling some to question his future at the club.
Due to the rupture in their relationship, the former LOSC Lille player’s future at the club is now becoming increasingly uncertain. This has alerted other clubs, and if Osimhen becomes available in January, then several clubs will certainly line up for his services.
The Blues are also keen on adding a proven striker to their roster and have identified Osimhen and Ivan Toney as potential targets for the winter transfer window. However, the Nigerian striker’s asking price could be a stumbling block, as Napoli will demand a massive asking price for their star man, who led them to Scudetto last season. However, as one of the best strikers in world football today, Osimhen’s huge asking price is well justified.
Since no prestigious team would want to pass up on our acquisition of such a talented striker, it is apparent that we will face increased competition to sign him. Although Saudi clubs could tempt him with a lucrative salary, it’s improbable that he would desire to move to the Middle East at such a young age.
Real Madrid are yet to replace Karim Benzema. They could certainly do with a player like Osimhen in their ranks. They also want to sign Kylian Mbappe next season, potentially hampering their ability to break the bank twice in the summer window.

Chelsea appear to be the best option because the club wants him, and their recent goal slump makes it clear that Osimhen is the right player to lead our attacking line. However, our project is yet to take off and could take some convincing before it attracts a player of Osimhen’s calibre. Hopefully, things pick up by January.
