Noni Madueke challenges Chelsea teammates to show their winning credentials
Noni Madueke has encouraged his teammates to turn Chelsea into a winning team and challenged them to win silverware this season. Madueke is aware of a few things regarding winning awards after claiming the Euro U21 trophy.
The Blues season has begun on an even note with two defeats and a win in the last four Premier League games, and after the end of the international break, the West Londoners will return to action on September 17 against Bournemouth.
After two losses, Chelsea’s performances have caused some to question if they will be able to contend for any trophies this year. Pochettino has been given enough time to make up for Sunday’s shortcomings.
Madueke, who believes that Chelsea should be regarded as a winning club, pressed the players to battle it out on all fronts this season. He said to the Chelsea official website:
‘’You know the blueprint of the club. If they have recruited you to come and join the project, it says something about your ability. That’s good to know in the back of your mind.”
‘’But it’s not just about recruiting talented players. It’s about making a winning team, and that is the next step we have to take this season. Silverware is so important to Chelsea, and that is the direction we have to head in for sure.”
Chelsea have promise but the team is still young and a tad inexperienced in winning trophies. All they need is that first trophy to give themselves a scent of success. Once that happens, the sky is the limit for Pochettino and his boys.
We have always had strong teams with a winning mentality, regardless of the manager, as Madueke has made a strong point here. We hired and fired coaches when things didn’t go our way, which led to fans becoming addicted to victories and trophies. This explains why fans get frustrated when they don’t see instant results. But it is time we also adapt and learn to be patient as a young bunch of talented lads come together.
We have already gone two seasons without winning a trophy, but maybe this year, with Mauricio Pochettino in charge, that will all change. It has to sooner rather than later, lest we also fall down the pecking order as new opponents rise to the fore.

We have a lot of young players who will take their time to show their ability, and it will also be time for the club to become a successful squad. Once Pochettino identifies the winning formula, we have to challenge for every single trophy. Madueke has proven his talent, and he has several qualities that qualify him to start every game. We can only hope that he will receive the playing time he deserves.
