Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea will continue scouting Antonio Nusa
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will continue monitoring highly-rated star Antonio Nusa despite their initial bid being rebuffed by Club Brugge in the recently concluded summer transfer window.
The transfer guru also revealed the Blues’ scouts will keep an eye on the development of the 18-year-old, who recently opened his account for the national team as Norway beat Jordan 6-0. Nusa is one of the best young players in his age group and has a bright future ahead.
Chelsea’s inaugural offer of €30 million on the summer window deadline day was turned down by Brugge. There were also talks of sending Nusa back to the Belgium club on loan but the deal never went through.
However, in the upcoming transfer window, the Blues will face tough competition for his signing, as he is on the radar of 20 other clubs after his 18-year-old breakthrough in Europe. The Norwegian star made history last year in the Champions League group stage as he became the second-youngest goal scorer after netting in the 4-0 away win over FC Porto.
His progress has been quick, and given that several clubs are keeping an eye on him, his value is bound to increase along with his performances. Even at the age of 18, Nusa’s experience is apparent. Chelsea need a striker and there is little surprise that they are eyeing Nusa.
Given his great ball skills and undeniable talent, Nusa’s signing will be tremendous. We will now face intense competition for his acquisition because we missed the chance to sign him on deadline day. But do we actually require a third winger? Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Cole Palmer make up our current starting lineup. Prior to adding another winger, the club would be better served by developing players they already have at their disposal.

Given his talent, Nusa should quickly develop into a quality player, and in the near future. He is only 18 years old and needs additional seasons to gain experience. Whether Todd Boehly will wait and watch or move fast as be usually does remains to be seen.
