Chelsea transfer target Victor Osimhen facing a questionable future at Napoli
Chelsea target Victor Osimhen could press for a move in January after a recent incident with Napoli, where the club’s official account posted a video mocking the striker on TikTok.
The first video showed Osimhen missing a penalty against Bologna, while another clip called him a “coconut.” This has resulted in the striker deleting all the photos of him involving the club on Instagram.
However, it also started when the striker was in a brawl with manager Rudi Garcia after he was taken off in the 86th minute of their 0-0 draw against Bologna on Sunday. It is fair to say that trouble could be brewing at the Serie A holders.
The former LOSC Lille forward has been pursued by the West Londoners, who will once again look for a No. 9 in January to address their drought of goals in the games. Last season’s tops corer in Serie A, Osimhen is one of Europe’s best young goalscorers.
The 24-year-old’s agent has spoken in light of the incident, (h/t Evening Standard), and took to Twitter to say:
“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor. What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable.”
This is something you shouldn’t do when a player of Victor Osimhen’s calibre has contributed so much to the team. It was a minor altercation between the manager and the player that should have been resolved behind closed doors, but making it public hurts both the manager and the player’s reputations.
As a result, Osimhen deleted an Instagram post where he appeared in a Napoli jersey. Should it lead to him wanting to leave, we are not complaining. After all, landing him will give Mauricio Pochettino an elite goal scorer he can build the team around.

This is a superb chance for the Blues to take advantage of the circumstances and explore making a move for the talented striker, who canbe a gamechanger for us. Although his asking price could be challenging to match, the West Londoners should take full advantage of the circumstances. If that isn’t feasible, we do have a backup alternative in Ivan Toney, who will be offered at less expense than Osimhen.
