Chelsea interested in signing Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram
According to Interlive.it, Chelsea and Real Madrid, who lost Karim Benzema this summer, are among the clubs that could approach Inter Milan for French striker Marcus Thuram in the next summer window.
The Frenchman, who joined Inter Milan in the recently concluded summer window, has hit the ground running, scoring two goals in four appearances in Serie A.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s woes in front of the goal continue despite signing a new centre-forward. The Blues had an interest in signing Thuram back in January, but the deal never actually came to fruition.
The West Londoners could once again consider signing the 26-year-old but will face competition from other clubs such as Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.
Currently, the striker has been valued in the region of €40 million, but with his present performance, it certainly will soar by the start of the next summer window.
It is doubtful if the West Londoners will truly pursue Thuram if they sign Toney because Chelsea are also interested in signing the striker, who is willing to leave Brentford and the Blues have been touted as the favourite to sign him in January.
Thuram is a quality striker, but even if we are able to bring him in during the summer transfer window, we can never be sure of how quickly he will adapt. Toney, on the other hand, can make a swift impact given his experience playing in the Premier League.
The Frenchman, who is currently 26 years old, has more than enough experience and we can’t say for sure what his performances in England will be like. Toney will also be a homegrown option and familiar with the London culture.

We have enough time to evaluate his performance throughout this season before deciding whether to acquire him. The Blues could also press for the acquisition of Toney in January, and if we do, it won’t make sense to pursue Thuram in the summer transfer window.
