According to the reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United are both keeping close tabs on Flamengo starlet Lorran.
The 17-year-old was born in 2006 and is one of the best young players to come through the club’s ranks in recent years. Blessed with speed and technical ability, the teenager is the youngest player to score a goal in the club’s history.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, Lorran can also play as a second striker if needed. Having impressed at the youth level, the youngster has one goal in four senior appearances for Flamengo across all competitions.
Chelsea have been eyeing the South American market of late and have in particular, landed several promising young Brazilians in recent months. The likes of Deivid Washington, Angelo and Andrey Santos all now call Stamford Bridge home.
Lorran can also join that list should Chelsea pay his €50m release clause. While it is a hefty fee for a player with minimal experience at the top level, forking out the cash could prove to be a bargain in the long run if the attacker goes on to fulfill his potential.
Chelsea scouts are actively watching the teenager and they have enough reasons to be excited. However, Manchester United are also keen and also have their own men keeping tabs.
The player also shares the same agency as Vinicius Jr, Lucas Paquetá, Gabriel Martinelli and Endrick. The agency already has two Brazilians playing in London and that number will hopefully rise to three in the coming years. Stamford Bridge is developing into a hive of promising young players and the 17-year-old will only add to the competition in the ranks to make it big.
Lorran’s contract runs until 2025 and it remains to be seen how Flamengo decide to react to advances for his signature. Hopefully it will be the team in Blue who come out on top.
