As per his latest tweet, Callum Hudson-Odoi wrote a heartfelt letter to Chelsea fans after sealing his permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest on the final day of this transfer window.
The England international has signed a deal worth below £5m with Forest. His initial contract at City Ground runs until the summer of 2026.
Hudson-Odoi started his professional career as a youth player at Chelsea seven years ago. He played for various youth sides before making his senior Blues debut in 2019. Although the potential and talent were there, he struggled to get regular game time at Stamford Bridge under any manager. It was under Thomas Tuchel that he played a lot.
Last summer, the 22-year-old went on loan to Bayer Leverkusen for a season but things did not work out for him there. He is back in England now and hoping to make it big at Forest. Here’s the tweet of his goodbye message to Chelsea fans:
Regardless of the fact that it did not work out for him here, Hudson-Odoi is a Chelsea product after all. Let’s hope and back him to do well at Forest and make a big move in the coming year or so (with all due respect to Forest).
The 22-year-old is a talented winger who can operate as a wing-back if required. He is direct on the ball, can go past defenders with ease, has the pace to make the runs in behind and works hard off the ball. If he adds the final product, there are not many better than him in wide attacking areas.
Doing the latter is all about the correct decision-making and exquisite coaching. If he is coached well with clear instructions, we can expect him to fly this season and beyond.
Steve Cooper is a fantastic manager who has the potential to extract the best out of Hudson-Odoi.
