Mauricio Pochettino confirms Chelsea are looking to add two new faces this summer
Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Chelsea are looking to sign two more players and said he is also counting on Armando Broja, who is in the last stages of his recovery from a knee injury.
The 3-1 defeat to West Ham United has outlined the Blues need for at least a clinical forward, but given they have Nicolas Jackson and Broja, it seems doubtful if they really need it. One could argue that the duo are still inexperienced and could do with some guidance.
Chelsea have already spent £300 million this summer but have also slightly trimmed down their bloated squad after selling 10 players and acquiring £200 million sale.
The West Londoners are hoping to add more attacking options after missing out on Michael Olise. They are expecting to add a winger who can tick all the boxes and play as no. 10.
Another signing could be a centre-forward, despite Chelsea already having Jackson and Borja at their disposal. Pochettino has confirmed they can add one more. (h/t Football.London) Speaking to the press, he said:
“We are working, of course. We are looking at all of the options that we can manage on the market. We can see the potential. But I think at the same time, we are keeping one or two eyes on Armando Broja. We cannot forget him. We cannot stop him. We really believe in him; we know how important he can be for Chelsea. We need to be careful.”
It was evident in the last two games that we could add another striker, but who would be the player to meet our expectations? Jackson has potential but is not an out and out goal scorer just yet. Broja too could struggle to find his groove following the injury and it makes sense for us to look at potential additions.

Broja could soon be available, and we can also rely on him because Pochettino stated that he has faith in the Albanian striker, who may serve as the perfect backup for Jackson. Yet we must have patience with them. However, the club is free to hunt for another striker if Pochettino feels he needs another centre-forward.
