Journo confirms Chelsea verbal agreement with Galatasaray for fringe attacker

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea and Galatasaray have a verbal agreement in place for Hakim Ziyech

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have verbally agreed to sell Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray. However, the Blues are completing the deal with caution as there are still documents to be finalised.

The former Ajax Amsterdam forward will undergo a medical soon if all goes well. Given how deals regarding him have fallen apart in the past, we have every right to exercise caution until the transfer is finalised.

Ziyech was on his way to Paris Saint-Germain in January, but the transfer failed to materialise on deadline day, with the Ligue 1 side blaming Chelsea for sending unsigned documents twice to halt the transfer. That has now backfired with us being unable to sell the veteran star.

He was then on the verge of joining Saudi club Al-Nassr earlier this summer, which could have seen him pocket £9 million net each year. However, the deal was stalled after a knee problem was raised in his medical.

This time Chelsea will be hoping to make the deal happen with caution after expressing serious disappointment due to his failure to leave the club twice in two transfer windows. The 30-year-old’s departure from the club means his three-year stint will come to an end after he joined the Blues in 2020 but had a negligible impact.

Chelsea reaches a verbal agreement with Galatasaray to sell Hakim Zieych.

The Moroccan winger will greatly benefit from a move to a Turkish team because he still has enough in him to play at the highest level. The transfer should be carefully considered this time around, and we cannot afford to keep him on especially given his standing in the squad.

With just weeks to go before the window closes, Chelsea will need to act fast and get the deal over the line. Ziyech has failed to impress in Blue and a new challenge in Turkey will help him reignite his career.

At Galatasaray, where he will play among star players like Mauro Icardi and Wilfried Zaha, Ziyech has a chance to regain his rhythm. His acquisition will also significantly strengthen their attacking line. Let’s hope he leaves soon and the outcome is satisfactory for both sides.
