Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea owners held a meeting at Cobham to make plans for the last day of the summer transfer window
According to Fabrizio Romano, (h/t Football.London), Chelsea owners were seen discussing the club’s last-day summer window plans at Cobham as there could be another signing on the last day.
It is also understood there is set to be a huge twist on the last day of the summer window, which will be a secret and could be a surprise signing for the club. In order to assemble a strong roster, the Blues, under Todd Boehly, have spent extravagant sums of money in recent transfer windows.
However, things didn’t go smoothly last season as they had four managers change and placed 12th in the Premier League. The club started their mass exodus during the summer transfer window in order to reduce their overly large team.
However, Chelsea’s expenditure has continued with the same speed, but this time with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm. The club has been able to strengthen its first team with the signing of Nicolas Jackson. Christopher Nkunku, Moises Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia
However, with Bradley Barcola, Emile Smith-Rowe, and Joao Felix all rumoured to be on the move, the Blues are seeking to add more players to the squad. However, there haven’t been any conclusive links to date, so it’s impossible to say what will change on the final day of the summer window but we can expect a sign to be made.
It appears that we will make a major signing, and with everything taking place behind closed doors, the owners are prepared to deliver a bomb on the final day of the summer window. It’s hoped that Pochettino has let them know what kind of player he needs. We currently have a packed midfield and defence. Therefore, it makes sense to add an aggressive player or a centre-forward.
