Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea have approached Corinthians for Gabriel Moscardo
Fabrizio Romano has reported Chelsea have tabled a formal approach for Corinthians teenager Gabriel Moscardo. The Brazilian club are demanding €25m.
If both clubs reach an agreement, this will be a Brazilian club record sale; however, Chelsea have yet to meet their asking price, but a deal could transpire.
If Chelsea manages to sign the teenager, he will join the club in 2024, when he turns 18. The midfielder has appeared 10 times for the club’s senior team.
Moscardo will be among the Brazilian players bought by Chelsea as the Blues continue their ambitions towards building a future squad by signing young players. Chelsea only have Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling are part of Chelsea’s senior team, while the majority of them are young players.
Who is Chelsea’s new target, Gabriel Moscardo?
Born in Taubate, the 17-year-old began his football career at the Corinthians youth academy, and his swift development saw him get promoted to the senior team as he made his bow for the senior team on June 28, 2023.
Chelsea scouts have always been spot-on when finding great young talent; earlier, they signed Andrey Santos, Angelo Gabriel, Cesare Casadei, and Lesley Ugochukwu.
Since the Blues have pursued Moscardo, we may infer that he is undoubtedly talented and that we already have Moises Caicedo and Ugochukwu as defensive midfielders. For his ongoing growth, the 17-year-old could be sent on loan to either Strasbourg or any Premier League team.

It would be interesting to see if Chelsea feels that €25 million is too much for such a gifted young player, given that the Brazilian team has sought that amount for the teenager. We are now getting close to the end of the summer transfer window, so the Blues will be hoping to complete the move if they are pleased with his talent.
