Eintracht Frankfurt submit €15 million plus proposal to Montpellier for Chelsea target Elye Wahi
Montpellier have received more than €15 million from Eintracht Frankfurt for the signature of Chelsea target Elye Wahi, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.
The Bundesliga outfit are interested in acquiring the services of the 20-year-old in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, they have put in a bid for the Ligue 1 outfit to consider.
As things stand, the Germans have reached a verbal agreement with the Stade de la Mosson side. Dino Toppmoller, who was recently appointed the manager of Die Adler, is keen on adding the striker to his ranks.
This summer, Chelsea have also put in an offer for Wahi, as per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter. However, the Stamford Bridge side saw their offer rebuffed.
The French national has broken onto the scene at Montpellier in recent years. In the previous campaign, the youngster especially shone for the Ligue 1 outfit. He made 33 appearances in the league for La Paillade, scoring 19 goals.
Frankfurt have their own French sensation up front. Randal Kolo Muani has caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays over the last year. The 24-year-old was brilliant last season and it would not be a surprise to see him get a move to a top team.
Chelsea have signed Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson for now to bolster their front line this summer. However, the former RB Leipzig attacker picked up an injury and will be on the sidelines for a considerable period.
Romelu Lukaku is still on the Samford Bridge side’s books. However, it seems like the Belgium international has no future at the club.

Therefore, we could evidently do with a prolific goalscorer in our ranks. However, Wahi is still young and will arguably need regular game time to develop further, which will evidently be difficult if he moves to Chelsea. But it remains to be seen whether Eintracht will be able to get a deal over the line.
