Eintracht Frankfurt ‘pushing’ for Chelsea target and Montpellier striker Elye Wahi
Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt are ‘pushing’ to sign Chelsea target and Montpellier star Elye Wahi this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The Blues are interested in acquiring the services of the French national in the ongoing transfer window. Then, the Stamford Bridge side plan on sending the striker on loan to Strasbourg.
However, the German side are determined to get a hold of the 20-year-old’s signature as well. Die Adler are trying to convince the youngster by presenting a long-term project.
In the 2020/21 term, Wahi made a place for himself in Montpellier’s senior squad. Subsequently, the youngster established himself in the Ligue 1 outfit’s starting lineup in the following season.
However, it was in the previous campaign that the forward caught a lot of people’s attention and broke onto the scene. In 33 appearances in the league for the Stade de la Mosson side, the French national scored 19 goals.
At the moment, Eintracht have one of the most promising strikers in their ranks. Randal Kolo Muani led the Bundesliga outfit’s line impressively last season. They also have Rafael Borre at their disposal for now.
At Chelsea, this summer has seen the signing of several youngsters. It seems like Todd Boehly and Co. are planning ahead and want to have exciting prospects on their books with the club’s future in mind.
As for the Blues’ attack, we have Christian Nkunku and Jackson Martinez as our number nines. They have been electric during pre-season. Armando Broja is also at the West London club’s disposal.
