According to Football London, Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has missed the latest training session as the Blues prepare for the game against Luton Town on Friday night.

Armando Broja and Benoit Badiashile, two players who have been out of action for some time, were seen doing some training activities on the grass.

The former has been out since last December when he picked up an ACL injury while playing the mid-season warm-up game against Aston Villa. The latter picked up a hamstring injury in the latter part of last season and has missed action since.

It is also revealed that Mauricio Pochettino won’t be in a hurry to reinstate Broja into the squad following a nine-month layoff. Badiashile, on the other hand, though has not been out for that long, is currently only doing some ball work on the grass.

So, it won’t be a surprise if neither of them plays any part in games until the first international break. The game against Bournemouth on September 17 might be on the horizon for them.

Coming back to Mudryk, it is unclear why he missed the training. It is a bit concerning though that the winger missed spending time with the squad on the grass less than 72 hours out from the game.

Safe to say, the Ukrainian has not planted any trees since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk in January. His ineffective appearance off the bench against West Ham which involved missing a simple volley encapsulated his time at Stamford Bridge so far.

But, Chelsea’s next two league games are at home to Luton and Nottingham Forest. They are expected to get six points out of them at a canter. These are the games where Mudryk must chomp at the bits to start and gain some rhythm. Whether he can do that by not training earlier in the day, remains to be seen.
