Chelsea superstar agrees personal terms to join Serie A club

Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku has agreed personal terms with Serie A giants Juventus

According to Metro, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has agreed personal terms to join Juventus as he gets closer to an exit from the West London club in the ongoing summer transfer window.

However, the Blues are yet to make a decision, and Mauricio Pochettino’s call on this situation will be important to making the deal happen. Lukaku has failed to impress in two different spells at Stamford Bridge and a parting of the ways is the best way forward.

It is also understood that Juventus are willing to sign the 30-year-old and are ready to offer Dusan Vlahovic in a swap deal, but are also demanding a €40 million fee as part of the transfer. Whether that is something Chelsea will agree to remains to be seen.

Lukaku, who spent last season’s entire loan spell at Inter Milan, was open to remaining at the Giuseppe Meazaa. But the striker’s sudden negotiations with Juventus saw the Nerazzurri pull out of the race. With Bridges at Inter now burnt, a move to Turin or Saudi Arabia could be the best way forward.

The Belgian striker also had suitors from Saudi Arabia, but he warded off the interest as he only wanted to continue in Europe. Despite Juventus wanting to sign the former Everton striker, the Italian side’s fans are not content with the Old Lady pursuing the 30-year-old, as they held a protest.

Nonetheless, the negotiations are continuing, and the deal can be done once Chelsea agrees to the offer, which will see Lukaku finally leave the West Londoners after joining them in 2021–22 and failing to make an impact.

Let’s hope this deal gets completed as soon as possible, which will finally get us rid of Lukaku, who did little for the club and never had any intention of playing for us. His departure can also make Chelsea consider signing another striker if we need one, but Nicolas Jackson’s preseason performances have so far ruled out that possibility.

He has shown that he could command the offensive line with Armando Broja as a backup, and Christopher Nkunku is an additional option. Our top objective right now is to sign a defensive midfielder since that’s the only position where we appear weak. Pochettino will make the final call, though.
