Chelsea hopeful that Premier League will approve lucrative new shirt sponsorship

Chelsea confident that Premier League will give the go-ahead for sponsorship deal with Infinite Athlete

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are now optimistic about the Premier League giving the green light to make Infinite Athlete their shirt sponsor for this season after their contract with mobile company Three expired at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Although they have not yet received league clearance, the Blues will sign a £40 million-a-year jersey sponsorship deal with sports data business Infinite Athlete. However, they are still convinced that the Premier League will sanction the sponsor and not create further hurdles in our path.

The sports data company was launched this month and has provided the league with all details of its funding value, adhered to their market value rules. They received the league’s nod to advertise the name of the company on the Chelsea jersey.

It is also understood that the Infinite Athlete has informed the Premier League that they have accounted for hundreds of millions in spending and that the revenue made by their investors and backers also amounts to hundreds of millions.

The Blues have begun their new season without a sponsor, which saw them draw with Liverpool before suffering a 3-1 loss to West Ham. Chelsea’s contract with Three ran out after which the Premier League denied the Blues the opportunity to make Paramount their new sponsor, while negotiations with Stake also led nowhere.

Infinite Athlete seems to be a great sponsor and the amount of investment they will inject into the club will benefit us. If we don’t have a sponsor, then certainly we will suffer a loss in terms of revenue and could hit our finances hard. Shirt sales are different, but cash coming from sponsors is also a big deal, and we need to get the deal over the line as soon as possible.

They arguably also make the shirt look aesthetic, which might increase the sale of the jersey. So we can hope that the Premier League can approve the sponsor because they have provided every relevant piece of data to them.
