Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino believes the process is good enough to garner success in the future
Speaking with Sky Sports ahead of the Luton Town game, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is convinced that the club will taste success in the future because of the recruitment done.
While explaining the process put in place, Pochettino singled out the quality players he has at his disposal and also touched on the unlucky part which is injuries to a few of them.
If we look at some of the names, summer signing Christopher Nkunku is out till December, Carney Chukwuemeka is out for a few weeks due to a knee setback, Wesley Fofana may not be seen playing this season due an ACL and much more.
Here’s what the manager says when asked about the potential success this team can taste in the near future (h/t Sky Sports):
“Sometimes you win games but, in the end, you go down. But if you wait a little bit, with patience to build something, maybe the results will not arrive when you are playing well but you can be consistent and end the season where you deserve to be.
“They are good feelings but we cannot translate them into points. We keep working and the players are really committed to the way we want to play.
“It is a process. We need to wait but for sure we are going to be really successful in the future.”
Amongst the plethora of incoming and outgoing business Chelsea have done this summer, pipping Liverpool to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia bolsters their midfield umpteen fold.
After a few high-profile departures from that department, the club had to nail down the recruitment to make sure Pochettino has a workable midfield to build his team around.
While it is exciting to see Caicedo and Lavia teaming up with Enzo Fernandez in the middle of the park, they are a young trio who would need time to play together for a few weeks before delivering results consistently.
Up front, Nicolas Jackson has made a good start to life at Stamford Bridge but is yet to open his account. If he does that against Luton, the feeling is that goals will start flowing for him.

All in all, Pochettino has a good squad who could be erratic in consistency this season. With no European football, the aim must be to finish in the Champions League places and chase a cup success or two.
