“Clinical”- Alan Shearer backs Chelsea attacker to thrive in the Premier League

Alan Shearer feels Chelsea have a clinical striker in Armando Broja

Alan Shearer has backed Chelsea striker Armando Broja to thrive in the Premier League, as he feels the 21-year-old is a clinical striker to lead the Blues’ frontline alongside Nicolas Jackson.

Broja is set to remain at Chelsea, as according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Mauricio Pochettino is not open to loaning out the striker and wants to test the waters regarding his ability. AC Milan have shown interest in signing the Albanian striker, but Pochettino wants to keep him, and the Blues are set to reject the Serie A club’s offer should ti arrive.

Alan Shearer backs Broja to thrive in Premier League.

Broja, who is currently recovering from an injury, played barely last season after sustaining a season-ending knee injury last year in December. He will be hoping to prove himself this time around and elevate his standing as one of the best players at the club.

Shearer has also backed the Argentine’s decision to keep the 21-year-old at Chelsea and feels the club has a clinical striker, (h/t Express), as he said:

“Finally a player who has made an immediate impact at Southampton, Armando Broja. Let me tell you, this lad is clinical. His goal against Brentford made him the youngest player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four home starts. As a striker, it’s all about taking chances and scoring goals, so stats like this show me that he can thrive in the Premier League.”

When the all-time top goal scorer in the Premier League describes you as a potent striker who can dominate the league, that suggests a lot. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to see enough of Broja’s play after he sustained an injury that caused his season to come to an end. However, the 21-year-old is recovering well and could play in upcoming matches.

Broja truly holds great potential, and we are excited for him to make waves in the Premier League whenever he returns to play. Pochettino has every reason to be optimistic and Shearer’s endorsement will only elevate expectations from the young striker to hit the ground running.
