PSG hoping Chelsea submit bid for £87m-rated megastar

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are hoping Chelsea submit bid for Kylian Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain are anticipating a bid from Chelsea for Kylian Mbappe, as the French club are willing to sell the 24-year-old this summer window.

According to the Times (Subscription Required) [h/t Express] the Blues have made inquiries about the 2018 World Cup winner, and PSG are expecting Chelsea to make a concrete offer for him.

Mbappe has continuously claimed he wants to remain at PSG next season, but the Ligue 1 giants don’t want to lose him for free, and he could be forced to exit the club if a reasonable offer arrives.

Todd Boehly, the owner of Chelsea, has made significant investments in young players’ signings, and now Mbappe is emerging as another potential acquisition.

Other than Chelsea, Saudi Arabian clubs are also said to be interested in signing the Frenchman, although persuading the star to join the Saudi club would be challenging. The Ligue 1 club have set an asking price of £87 million for the player, which honestly seems like a bargain given what we have spent on players recently.

Even if Chelsea reaches an agreement with PSG, they will have to also convince the player to join the West Londoners, given that the forward only wants to join Real Madrid. So, hopefully, Los Blancos don’t come in for him this summer.

If we are able to sign him, we could have to pay him enormous salaries, which may be challenging for us considering that we must adhere to the Financial Fair Play guidelines after failing to secure Champions League qualification and spending so much in the last two windows. A player of his quality and status won’t play for us for meagre pay.

Given that Mbappe is a flexible player who can play both on the left flank and as a striker, his addition will be a swift boost to the attack. Every team would love to recruit a player of Mbappe’s calibre, but it is a deal that will need a lot of things to go our way. The best we can do is maintain contacts with the player and have the money ready.
