“Kudus will go”- Journo suggests PL club can sign Chelsea target whenever they want

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag tipped to entice Chelsea target and Ajax Amsterdam attacker Mohammed Kudus

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has been tipped to entice Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus amidst interest from Chelsea.

As things stand, the Blues are close to agreeing personal terms with the Ghana international regarding a move this summer. However, the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on the attacker.

At the moment, the Old Trafford side have pulled out from the race to acquire the services of the 22-year-old. The Eredivisie outfit’s £40 million price tag is deemed too high by the Manchester-based club.

However, United are still capable of hijacking Chelsea in the race for Kudus. Speaking to Sky Sports via Football Daily on Twitter (h/t Express), Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan believes the Ghanaian would jump at the chance of being able to reunite with Ten Hag.

“As soon as [Erik] ten Hag knocks on his door, Kudus will go.”

Ajax signed the attacker in the summer of 2020 when the Dutch manager was still in their dugout. Under the 53-year-old, the 22-year-old was mostly a bit-part player.

However, Kudus has grown from strength to strength over the last year. In the previous campaign, the Ghanaian was the Eredivisie outfit’s talisman, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for them.

At Chelsea, a number of young and talented additions have been made to the forward line since last summer. In January, we signed Mykahylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke to our attack.

In the ongoing transfer window, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson have been added to our ranks. The Blues also possess Raheem Sterling.

At the moment, the Stamford Bridge side have an abundance of prospects up front. Will Kudus be another addition to our rank or will United acquire his services? Only time will tell.
