Kylian Mbappe sends message to Chelsea newboy after first training session

Kylian Mbappe is excited for Christopher Nkunku’s new start in his life at Chelsea

According to Metro, Kylian Mbappe is looking forward to seeing Christopher Nkunku play for Chelsea, as he commented under his compatriot and former PSG teammate’s post on Instagram.

Chelsea signed Nkunku in November last year, but his acquisition became official earlier this month. The 25-year-old couldn’t participate in the 2022 World Cup due to injury but came back before the conclusion of the Bundesliga and finished as the joint-top scorer.

Nkunku won the Bundesliga Golden Boot as a result, scoring 16 goals in 24 matches but will now have to accustom himself to a completely new league. The Frenchman is a versatile player who can play on the wings and as a striker and it remains to be seen where Mauricio Pochettino will field him in his set-up. He can play as a second striker as well, as he did for the most part of his stay in Leipzig.

However, his France teammate and Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe have backed him to thrive in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino when the season begins.

Mbappe commented on his post with “going to get my popcorn” with a popcorn emoji under the post of the former RB Leipzig player’s Instagram post. It indicates that the France national team captain will be following Nkunku’s stint in SW6 with a keen eye.

Chelsea will travel to the USA for their pre-season tour and will hopefully be prepared for their tough opening game against Liverpool on August 13. This could be the chance for fans to see the former RB Leipzig man in action for us for the first time.

Kylian Mbappe comments Nkunku Instagram post.

Nkunku has been a great addition, and the team is eager to see him wear a Chelsea jersey when the new season starts. He has already proven himself in the Bundesliga, and now it’s time to do the same in the Premier League. It’s understandable that he will need some time to adjust, but once he does, he could be the answer we have been desperately searching for since Didier Drogba and to some extent, Diego Costa’s exit.

Meanwhile, We don’t need to emphasise how talented Mbappe is at this point; he was earlier linked with a move to Chelsea but those links have since died down. Hopefully, in the future, we see the two French forwards linking up in the Chelsea shade of blue, but affording a player such as Mbappe has seemingly become a financial nightmare even for the best of clubs.
