Chelsea shortlist three midfielders including Michael Olise this summer

Chelsea have targeted Rayan Cherki, Mohammed Kudus and Michael Olise

According to Football.London, Chelsea are in the market for three midfielders, with Rayan Cherki, Mohammed Kudus, and Michael Olise being targets.

Following the departure of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Christian Pulisic, the Blues have already found their replacements, with the likes of Kudus, Olise and Cherki set to be pursued by Blues.

Chelsea are keen on signing Rayan Cherki and even sent scouts to assess his progress at Olympique Lyon, which they did for Malo Gusto. Cherki has been one of the top options for Mauricio Pochettino.

Meanwhile, Kudus, who is a versatile midfielder and can also operate as a centre-forward, has impressed Chelsea, who are willing to make a move for the Ghanaian player.

The former academy graduate Michael Olise is also on Chelsea’s radar, and according to the Daily Mail, the West Londoners have already submitted their bid, which is around £39 million, to quickly complete his signing, despite his release clause being in the region of £35 million.

The Blues have offloaded the likes of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, and Jorginho back in January, which leaves them without an experienced midfielder. They only have Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez as first-team midfielders for next season.

All of the aforementioned midfielders that Chelsea is interested in have made a name for themselves. Cherki and Kudus had an incredible campaign last year. Cherki scored four goals and gave six assists in 34 Ligue 1 games, while Kudus contributed 11 goals and four assists in 30 Ajax games.

With 37 Premier League appearances and 11 assists, Olise also had a breakout year at Crystal Palace. Olise was a major factor in Palace’s disappointing campaign.

Given that Olise is a Premier League product, adjusting to life at Chelsea may not be difficult for him. If the Blues are successful in signing all three players, Kudus and Cherki will likely need some time to adjust to their new lives. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet, so we’ll have to wait and see how things work out.

One thing is for certain, though — we need at least two starting quality midfielders before the season starts. There can’t be any compromises there.
